After the debacle of the last build, I decided to try again with a different design – a small-bodied acoustic that I could travel with. Something with a removable neck. The result is this Peruvian walnut and Sitka spruce parlor model. The lower bout is only 12″ wide but the scale length is the same as my Gibson L-00, with similar neck shape. For versatility, I installed a K&K Pure mini pickup – and the results are really good – it sounds like a larger guitar plugged in. I had someone ask why I put a slot head on it, and the answer is that I wanted the vibe to be like a parlor guitar from the early part of the 20th century, and many of those instruments had slots.
I ended up using this guitar on many of the tracks on my first album, coming out December 21, 2022. More info in the next post.

The neck comes off using a hex key, and packs up in about five minutes. Fits in the overhead of most planes.
